Founder, Our Pioneer


Mr. Mahmud Ali, a pioneer and visionary in Bangladesh. A dreamer of bringing a greater life to our nation. He believed in Bangladesh’s great potential as one of the “Next Eleven” developing economies.

Mr. Ali came from humble beginnings, starting by trading shrimp during his student life at the University of Chittagong—buying wholesale from Khulna farms and selling to the local Chattogram bazar—building manufacturing and logistics operations and exporting near a billion dollars in apparel to renowned brands across the globe, while also expanding our business into realty.

He believed that business created life’s opportunity.

“Garments empowered our nation to grow to what it is today. Our greatest and only natural resource is our human capital.” - Mahmud Ali.

His single ambition was the development of our economy through entrepreneurship, to further life and sustenance for our Nation.

He tragically passed on 15 April 2021 from COVID-19. Peace be upon him.

His creation and dream live on forever in Falgun.

Mustafa Mahmud, our Managing Director dynamically took over his father’s legacy at young age of 20. The youngest Managing Director in the RMG industry and of any company with revenue access of 50 million USD in Bangladesh.

He is bring modern, systematic and analytical business processes to our company. Taking Bangladesh to the 21st century of corporate business and creating us to compete with global corporations. Building our new ventures in Supply Chain, Agricultue and Technology. Consolidating and systemizing our business for the most efficient, reliable and qualitiful operations therefore product and service.

He is our Leader in Creating Falgun’s new future driven by modern innovation. Falgun’s mission, vision and values were created by him.

Our Milestones & Timeline

1985: Founded our logistics Clearing and Forwarding (C&F) company, International Trading Agency Ltd.

1994: Entered Ready-Made Garments (RMG) through Fashion Products Ltd.

2000: Developed and established our first owned RMG facility, Modiste (Bangladesh) Ltd.

2003: Expanded logistics into vessel Protection and Indemnity (P&I) services through Coast & Coast P&I Services Ltd.

2005: Expanded RMG into knit-wear.

2006: Expanded into casual woven bottoms and light outer-wear.

2009: Expanded our facilities in Chattogram EPZ through Modiste (CEPZ) Ltd.

2009: Entered commercial realty, breaking ground on our first commercial building, The Triangle, designed by Veeti.

2010: Expanded into active-wear.

2011: Inaugurated The Triangle.

2012: Implemented modern RMG processes through Swiss manufacturing consultancy Gherzi Textil Organisation AG.

2012: Partnered with Taypa to establish Turkish-standard denim washing at Modiste (CEPZ) Ltd., enabling our expansion into denim-wear.

2014: Secured investment from KfW DEG in our RMG companies.

2020: Completed the DEG funding settlement and advanced our financing plan for RMG expansion and entry into textiles.

15 April 2021: The passing of our founder, Mr. Mahmud Ali, and the unfortunate pause of our expansion.

18 September 2021: Mr. Mustafa Mahmud assumed leadership as Managing Director at age 20, with an immediate focus on company stability and efficiency.

2024: Expanded into RMG supply chain services through Modiste Ltd.

14 February 2026: Day 1 of Mission Falgun

  • Unified and expanded logistics services into Falgun Logistics Ltd. — C&F, forwarding, shipping, and stevedoring.
  • Expanded our realty product and services through Falgun Realty Ltd.
  • Expanded into agriculture through Falgun Agriculture Ltd.
  • Expanded into technology through Falgun Technology Ltd.

Jeasion International Ltd.: An American trading company we partnered with to enter knit-wear in 2005; in 2008, we bought out our partnership.

Gherzi Textil Organisation AG: Swiss manufacturing consultancy that modernised our RMG systems.

Taypa: Leading Turkish RMG manufacturer that partnered with us to develop our denim manufacturing and washing unit; in 2015, we bought out our partnership.

KfW DEG: Among the first RMG companies in Bangladesh to receive financing from KfW DEG in 2014
